Dr Ben Gooden

Dr Gooden is an Orthopaedic surgeon with a particular interest in hip and knee replacement, arthroscopic knee surgery and Orthopaedic trauma.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Sydney in 2001 with honours. He completed his advanced training in Orthopaedic surgery through the Australian Orthopaedic Association becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2010.

On completing his Orthopaedic training, Doctor Gooden completed post-fellowship training in primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty at the Klinikum Emil von Behring Hospital, Berlin, Germany. On returning to Sydney he undertook a further fellowship in Orthopaedic trauma as well as hip and knee arthroplasty at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney.

In addition to his medical qualifications, Dr Gooden has completed a Science degree with first class honours at the University of Adelaide and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) through the University of Sydney. His PhD thesis dealt with the mechanisms of tendon and cartilage degeneration.

Dr Gooden has consultant appointments at The Mater Private Hospital, Sydney Adventist Hospital, Hornsby Ku-Ring-gai  Hospital and Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital.
